A mix of melodies old and new, some dating back to the 13th Century, all from the Occitan region. On their debut, A Fil de Ciel show themselves as a band willing to take plenty of chances, updating folk traditions in time-honored fashion, although without adding programmed beats or electronica (except some organ). There's something of a rock sensibility in the arrangements, but without ever being so obvious, and they take full advantage of the beautiful melodies they have as their basis.
