I have not a large knowledge in musical instruments, but something more in piedmontese regional speech. For this I know that FRUJA is the piedmontese slang for GUITAR.
Bye to all.
FrancO
Never seen Ciacio playing a guitar, he usually plays a mean melodeon and a sort of rattles fiddle.
I've always been guessing this is were fruja, but my Piedmontese is virtually inhesistent, neh!, so probably you are right
Ciao...
Marco.
Hi... The "fruja" are wood's rattle. With the "ravi" (dehydrate pumpkin ) and the "tachenettès" (pig's bones) represent the piedmontese "poor" percussion...
Marco
Grazie. Ciao! Marco.
Hmm, I know nothing about piedmontese instruments nor about the language, so I have no idea what a "fruja" is. But what matters is, that this music is really beautiful and with some slow serenity, celebrating la dolce vita....
Hi everybody.
I'm Enzo, Tre Martelli melodeon player.
Only now I see this blog.
About fruja:
Yes FRUJA is the piedmontese slang for GUITAR, but also (in a ristrict area near Turin called Chierese) a wood's rattle instrument similar to others well-knowed south italian instruments.
All the best.
